Payment methods

Pay before early bird deadlines and get significant discounts. Both Oral/Poster presenters and Non-Presenters/Listeners are required to register and pay their registration fee before the final registration deadline (September 24th, 2019). If you pay before early bird deadlines you will get cheaper rates on registration fees as follows.

Preferable payment methods

Silvilaser 2019 relies on PayPal to deal with international and national online payments. The online payment system is the fastest and easiest method to pay your registration fee. We strongly recommend it for matters of reliability, security and affordability (specially for early bird registrations). Early bird discounts are applied only to online payments.

Steps to follow when you pay your registration fee online

Step 1 - for payments with Brazilian credit cards click "Registration from inside the Brazilian territory (local payment)", otherwise choose "International registration (foreign payment)"

Step 2 - Choose the category of your registration: Professional or Student. If you are registering as a student, please send to a PDF copy of a proof of academic enrollment. Student registrations with no proof sent before September 30th will be canceled and replaced by registrations in the waiting list.

Step 3 - The international registration form (in English) requests basic data (like name, name for badge, affiliation, e-mail and phone), asks participants to choose the category (Professional and Student) and offers the opportunity to make reservations on conference add ons (field trips, dinner and printed proceedings). Similar information is requested (in Portuguese) for "Registrations from inside the Brazilian territory".

Step 4 - Depending on the category and add ons chosen, the next step informs the payment value and displays a conventional PayPal payment form.

Step 5 - Confirm payment and wait until the "Registration Confirmed" page is displayed.

Online registration is closed. You can register at welcome desk.

Onsite payment

If you have funding issues or other unavoidable circumstances, you can still register online and pay later at undiscounted rates onsite at the Silvilaser 2019 welcome front desk. For onsite payment, choose "International registration (foreign payment)" and then click on "I will pay when welcomed at the Silvilaser 2019 front desk (no discounts apply)".

These cases will be handled as exceptionalities and require the registered participant to confirm attendance with a scanned copy of the air ticket, scanned copy of an identification document (Passport or similar ID) and accommodation confirmation receipt. If you are an oral or poster presenter you will be included in the conference program once you submit these documents to the conference secretariat (

Please, consider those onsite payments are subject to unexpected inconveniences like extra bank service charges, unpredicted variations on exchange rates for payments in cash, constraints due to foreign credit card security measures like the absence of activation for international payments, transaction failures due to communication issues etc.

Funding and Visa

Please submit your paper well before the deadline to the conference allowing more time to work on funds.

Brazil has visa waiver agreements with certain countries, so before applying please consult the Entrance Visas in Brazil document to verify if you need to have a visa to go to Brazil. If you are exempted, please be sure that your passport is valid for more than 6 months, and check if you need vaccination. Since Silvilaser 2019 does not have funds available to pay for registration or travel expenses you may need to take required measures for funding. You are encouraged to begin planning for funding and visa arrangements at the earliest as the processes can sometimes take several months. Cancellation Terms

Cancellation must be made by e-mail to The following fees will be retained in case of cancellation:

• Until September 15, 2019: the conference will refund 70% of the total registration cost, including any fees for optional activities.

• After September 15, 2019: no refund, full prepaid fees will be kept as a cancellation fee.

• No-shows (i.e. attendees who register for the conference, but do not appear) will not receive a refund of any kind.
